Truck died!!!! Assumed electrical problem?
Quick question for ya. On way to work this morning hopped in truck and shortly after takeoff radio started blinking on and off and ABS light came on. That didnt worry me too much but soon after I lost ALL gauges on dash. Needless to say truck stalled in middle of road shortly after that. I assume it was from lack of fuel pressure but didnt look at my F.P. gauge soon enough. I popped the hood and wiggled the batt terminals (which were tight) got back in and it started right up. Drove the remaining 30 miles without a hitch. Both batteries are about 1 month old. Alt. seems good (havent had it tested). Any Ideas on what could have caused this. It is an 04 F250 with SCT tuner. Thanks in advance for the help.
and every time you'd hit a bump, it'd throw different codes.
a day and a half to find, and changing an alternator.... it's a van,
and they aren't easy to get to much of anything on. backup lights
weren't working, everything was.. sorta like what you have going on.
sometimes i'm starting to think that the most valuable accessory
i've got for my van is premier AAA towing, you can get 200 miles
towed without extra charge.
something to check, is wiggling battery cables a few inches away from
terminals or lugs..... sometimes moisture wicks up fine stranded
cable for quite a ways, and corrodes nicely... i found a ground cable
a long time ago that had severe corrosion almost a foot away from the
terminal... using a good voltmeter that has high and low capture on it,
hook it up to each end of a cable, with one end lifted, and wiggle, tug
and snark at it and see if you can get a momentary high resistance.
that's if a quick lookie see at terminals doesn't find the problem.
