After my last few fill ups, I have noticed a strange transfer of fuel from my front tank to my rear tank.
I usually use my rear tank first, so then I switch to my front tank when its out. My front tank seems to use fuel at an AMAZING rate, but when I switch back to the rear tank there is magically gas in it. Anyone have an explanation for this?
check for a recall, my truck is going in the shop tomorrow for the same thing. i am not sure about the 92's but you can check it out using this site. just click on the tab on the right and follow the instructions.
offroadguy has the right idea. Check with your local dealer. I'm almost certain '92s were included in the recall. Ford created the problem, so let them pay the bill for it.
Definately check with Ford for the recall. My '91 was covered although I had too many miles to take advantage of it. My problem was/is exactally the opposite of yours meaning my rear tank fills up the front one. My dealer said it is about a $200.00 repair, parts & labor, if paid out of pocket.
