Just wondering: when you turned the key to start the motor, has the motor started to turn but didnt fire and kept turning even with the key off and out of the ignition? And the only way to kill it was to disconnect the battery? I know it sounds strange and unsual but it happens

Sorry about starting two threads however I'm trying like heck to avoid spending money that I don't have. It seems a loose wire has effected the starting process on my truck. Heaven knows how it got loose. I do appreciate everyones' advise and have learned a huge amount from the responses. Being that the truck is to be thirty years old next year, I'll still appreciate whatever advise I get. This forum rocks!
