engine miss
I could use a little help. I just rebuilt a 77 150. At initial start, the motor ran pretty rough but I attributed that to timing. Now the timing is right the truck wont idle long before it dies and seems to be getting worse each time I try and start it. I took it out for a short initial drive (1 mile) and it would run but seems to be running on less than all cyclinders.
Can anyone walk me through the steps to test.
I was going to start by testing vacume, then swap out the plug wires and then swap the carb.
A couple of insights- everything under the hood is new, besides coil and contol modual- truck is wired right. Carb was running truck fine before the rebuild, but ran the gas tank down to fumes on the initial start and noticed a lot of rust in the fuel filter. Could this be a weak coil? or modual going bad?
Could be low fuel flow since you said it had rust in the filter. Stock carb?
Could this be a weak coil? or modual going bad?
Maybe but probably not
