So i have an 85 f150 and i bought a 3 color light strip to put on it. I have installed it and spliced it into the according wires. it is grounded and has a constand 12v feed as it was told to do in the instructions. But when i tested it everything works like the brake light, running light, revers light, and the blinkers work. The problem is when the blinkers are one either the left or right one it will flash the amber LED but then start to flash the red brake LED and then go back to flashing the ambers again.
So my question is did i happen to splice the blinkers into the wrong wires?
P.S. I did replace the flasher in the fuse box to be able to work with LED blinkers and tail lights.

If your lights all work, as you mentioned, then your wires are connected correctly.
If you have the original turn signal/brake lights still on the truck you can get a feed back to your led strip.
You shouldn't need the led flasher.
The strip thinks that you are hitting the brakes when the turn signals come on. That is probably why the brake lights flash after the turn signal is activated for a few seconds.
I hope I didn't mislead you but LEDs have to be connected with + and - voltage correctly.
Other than that, double check the paperwork with the strip for exceptions,applications,etc.. Hope this helps..Trav.
In trucks without a 3rd brake light the stop and turn lights are one in the same.
Brake Switch - Powers Left and Right
Left Turn Signal - Powers Left, but through flasher
Right Turn Signal - Powers Right, but through flasher
Now, when you are braking and turning, the turn signal switch actually uses the flasher to interrupt the left or right, leaving one light on and one flashing. What you are seeing is the result of the wiring in your truck doing exactly what it was designed to do.
The only solution I can think of is to return the strip with the separate amber turn signal, and get something that uses the same lights for stop and turn.
