so after talking to some people who knew there sutff and to a couple buddies who had V10's lifted 8" and 10" and after hearing what they usually average tank wise i decided against the 8 on 37's.
so im think just going with 35's and leaving it at 4 inches or maybe just a 6" i have a buddy who has a whole set up for $250
im gonna be doing other mods though instead im gonna get a 5 star tuner from Mike thinking maybe a CAI a new y-pipe also from 5 star. does anyone else have any suggestions??
yea forget the cold air kit, i have a K&N and when i talked to Mike and got my X3 he says there is no difference in tuning because the motor cant pull in anymore air then the factory or aftermarket intake can provide. I run the stock intake all winter during hunting because im always in fields hunting and driving around, and in the summer i install my K&N intake since im not in the dirt fields no more
What gears do you currently have? In my opinion, you'll see more benefit from a regear than anything else. It's costly though. If that's out of the question, then I'm with the others, get a tune and exhaust.
By the way, you know you can do 6.5" lift with 37" tires right? That's only a 1/2" more than the max height you're talking, and you'll get the size tire you want. I had some rubbing at full lock on my 2000, but at that point, if you can't turn sharp enough, drive over whatever's in the way.
I agree with Superdutyscaler. We run an airaid intake on our 2002 F250 4x4 V10 and compared to our last 2002 F250 super cab 4x4 V10 this one gets way better gas milage and feels like it helps it when pulling. We had it on the truck when we got it. By the way I agree anything over 6 inch lift is pretty high. I know thier is a truck that runs around here with a V10 I think it is lifted 4 inches and it is running 35s last time I talked to the guy who owned it and I thought that had a pretty good stance really but it was a super cab and yours is a crew cab.
Trav
i got my truck on front 6.5" procomp springs and 35x12.5R16.5 bfg all terrains. measure to a 33" tire
but none the less i would not go any higher in lift and maybe max my tires out at 37's. but as it sits now 6" is at the higher end of having a useable truck... 4" don't sound too bad and hopefully soon my buddy will do his 4" lift and 35's so i can get a in person visual.
heres my truck.
its sitting about 3" low in the azz cause i let my dumb friend talk me into putting his stock rear excursion springs and 6" of block in the rear.... his argument was an EX weighs more in the back so it should hold a super duty higher up in the rear.... he was wrong and i get to do some form of spring swap weather it be re install my stock rears and go with proper block or AAL, or just go buy new lift springs for the rear.
sorry to get off tract... get the tires on your 4" lift and see how she looks then lift to 6" if need be

Terrible, but it wasn't good before either when it was stock. Around 9mpg's in the city, 12hwy I believe. The lift/tires dropped it about 2-3mpg's on avg. You gotta pay to play.
