FTE needs to start a "nomad" chapter. LOL. I'm an OTR driver and have been in all lower 48 and Alaska and Canada. Just checking in to see what all the hometown folks in NC are up to. Still got the old F250 and the mustang and have added a 2011 peterbilt 386 to the barn. It ain't a ford but it'll do. To all the new guys glad you're here, to all the older guys, glad you've kept it going.
Thanks for stopping in. Glad the OTR trucking is going well. What a great way to see the country. Have a couple of friends who are drivers and one that's a broker/logistics guy.
It's been pretty quiet around here these days. But we still have a few core guys that keep it going. Plenty of members. Just not enough participation at times.
Just like it but red, bright red. LOL. With the platinum interior, with 72 inch sleeper. it's a nice home away from home.
Sweet! My grandfather was a truck driver for many years. When I was a child, I went with him on a day trip to pick up oranges in FL. It was an awesome day! My grandfather died last year at the age of 97. The trucking industry has definitely changed since the time that he was driving.
I hear that. Yeah all the old time truckers are retiring or dieing off, to be quite frank it sucks! This industry as whole is going to hell in a bucket. All the new age drivers don't have any respect or professionalism at all about them and it's quickly bringing the Feds down on the industry. I had a grandfather that drove also, I remember the days before deregulation when I would ride along. Those were definantly the good ol days of trucking.
Several weeks ago I flew out to Phoenix, AZ to help my niece move back to NC. We traveled on I-40 across country and for the first day all I saw were truckers (Arizona and New Mexico). The closer we got to the east coast, the more truckers I saw on I-40. I-40 is a major trucking route!
What's up tanman? Yeah it's been a while, time is a very valuable commodity these days. Been spending most of it touring the country. LoL! To bad it's not a vacation though. Have any of you guys heard anything out of Cliff aka super snake , aka old tired rebel? Been thinking about him lately and can't get up with him.
