we have the passenger side head off my truck, and i have been researching the studs.I have read a lot of post where the ARP's are installed with the head on.That is not possible with the set I have??The studs have a rise where they meet the block..Does ARP make this type??I am wondering if I even have ARPs..
Installed with the heads on, but you either have to raise the cab, or loosen the motor mounts and rock the motor. When you say rise, are you talking like a raised ridge? The ARP's I have seen are blank(unthreaded) in the center.

The best way to discribe it, Its like they have a stop where they screw into the heads..they are blank in the center..
If that is too large to fit through from the top, how will the head fit back over it when you put the head back on?
Alan, My main concern is are they ARP or not..This is the second time I have blown the head gasket

so do you think you dont have arp's? is that the question here? where did you buy yours from? i didnt have a lip on mine....also how long are you letting the head gaskets season before you crank up the power and go all out on them?

Yes, that is what I am wondering..The engine builder installed them,I advised him I wanted ARP,my invoice says ARP..SO, I am wondering if they are not, what else is not what I asked for..
sa far as letting the gasket season, roughly 500 miles..
