I am in the process of trying to get a 300ci inline rebuild done by late august and have had alot of parts from summit racing ready to go for a while, i got my new rings out this evening, weeks after receiving them, and went to check for sure if they were right, (Bore 4.030 inch rings by Sealed Power) and the top ring i placed in the cylinder overlapped itself by at least an 1/8 inch, now i would normally have my dad help me out with this but our work scheduals this time of summer dont match up he's in bed when i get home, i found a caliper and mesured the inside of the cylinder and it appears to be just shy of 4 inches, by a slight amount, (the piston head a little more under 4"), not the 4.030" i was hoping for, the other f'ed-up part is, is that i cant find any other options for ring size's so am i just seeing things or is my 1985 block's bore smaller than it should be, or are these the wrong rings in the right packaging? anyone have any ideas?
yeah i figured it out with a little research, at 1 in the morning, when i found that the standard bore on a 300 six is 4 inches, the 4.030 was 30 thousands over, summit doesnt offer anything different for these engines so i got rings coming through our local napa store
