I have purchased a few different water pump pully's and none of them are correct. I Picked up the engine used and have no idea of what vehicle it came out of. I am wondering if i were to pull ALL of the pully's off of a 351w if they would work on my 1973 351w. The engine is going into a 1977 F150. No AC. It is bare bone. Alternator, water pump, power steering, and crank pully. I have also ordered 2 different alternator brackets and none of them have worked. ANY help would be great.

 

At this point, I would just go to a salvage yard and pull all the pulleys and brackets off of a 351W from an engine that uses a V belt setup.

The Windsor's all used the same 4 bolt balancer, so yes that'll work. Those alternator brackets should work, if you have the correct balancer and water pump pulley's. The P/S will run off a different belt.

 

The idea of getting a "set" is the right approach....if we look at the SBF's, there were 7 (at least) different pulley combinations (diameter/offset/etc) and finding the right combination although can be done , it takes time to match it all up. But here is another BIG consideration...….. pulley age.....
If the pulleys are within the 20 year old range, ok....but I would also magnaflux them to ensure the safety of myself and vehicle. Anything older, unless it is for show purposes you couldn't pay me enough $ to run oem pulleys on any type of a driver..... as these are "loaded guns" literally going down the road because of metal fatigue.... yes, it doesn't happen often but when it does (and I have seen this a couple times....once in the early 90's driving back from a show in Fresno....both a classic mustang and late 60's T-Bird within a few miles of each other..... and just a couple of years ago on a Camero …
