Did you get the electrical connection sorted out?

Verify your wiring and see if you have any codes.

You can have a faulty TPS without triggering a code. Meter the TPS signal output to verify it is good. The PCM relies on the TPS signal for many functions including transmission shift schedules.

This was my experience. My '94 exhibited exactly those symptoms and replacing the Throttle Position Sensor fixed it immediately.

Did you measure the signal output of the TPS before changing it?

Please define your statement in Post#5 "it isnt showing any codes". At the very least you should have gotten the All Clear/System Pass code of 111/111 for KOEO and 111/111 for CM.

I do not think you are ever going into first.
What gears you have is second and 4th. Why I think that is because that is the way a E4OD works when it is in limp mode. The rough shift is because the the transmission is at full oil pressure in limp mode.

You have either bad wiring to the transmission, wrong pin positions in the plugs or the plugs are not making contact. In other words the computer has lost contact with the transmission. When the computer has lost contact with the transmission it puts the transmission in limp mode. If the transmission does not get any information from the computer (all wiring cut) it puts itself in limp mode. That is just the way it works.

If it is not what I said above then you either have the wrong computer in the truck or a bad computer.

Why do you think it's going all the way back to 1st gear?

Still sounds like you have a wiring or computer issue. Try resetting your computer by disconnecting the battery. Try manually shifting through all the gears. Cancel OD, then put it into 1st, take off than shift through 2nd, into D, then enable OD again. Verify that it shifts correctly into each gear.
