Would like to install a trailer bake controller. Did a search here but no results. Are there instructions available here oir elsewhere someone can provide a link to please. Thanks.
There is a plug way up high near the steering column to the right, it's hard to find but take a flashlight and look up there. You might need to add a relay too. I had to in my 2001 and didn't in my 2002.
Here is picture of that connector. Way above the "go" peddle and to the right, (as stated by John) Sometimes in the little hole there. Hard to see it sometimes.
Also a picture of where i mounted mine. No regrets from sticking it there, Out of the way and never been hit by anything.
On a side note.. My exterior and interior of the truck is "MINT".. I don't know why the picture makes the interior look trashed. Crappy cell phone picture i figure..
the tekonsha P3 is an awesome controller....led display easy as heck to adjust read and use......highly recommend....plug and play with the ford harness....
word of caution though....Even though the ford harness has the same color wires as the harness of whatever controller you buy, be sure to verify they have the correct function on each one. for example, Don't match black to black as u may be putting voltage directly to ground. I ran into that recently with a reese brand controller. I verified it beforehand so I did not mess up but it could have been ugly.
A Tekonsha P2 is nice if you're like me and don't tow a lot, but still want a quality controller at a decent price. I picked up the pre-made harness to go from the controller to the Ford plug. Much easier then splicing in the harness that came with the controller. I also mounted mine in the same spot that Dan did.
You should be able to order the controller with a harness for your 7 way plug. Check this one out for your truck with a pre-wired harness.....plug-N-play

I went with the Tekonsha p-3 searched on line and found it at RV Parts, RV Accessories RV Supplies Priced Low with the harness for my f350. Love this controller so easy to adjust for the different trailers I tow all the time.
Mine is the P3 ($100, Ebay). I got the wire harness at the RV dealer ($20). Plug and Play.
My old POS broke a week before i left to go on a trip a few years back.. I crossed my fingers the controller would come in before i left, And i picked up the harness at the RV dealer. (stocked) I literately read the instructions on it the day i left on the trip. My wife read them to me while i was driving. Not much to the p3 to figure out.. Smooth as silk and easy to change voltages and has a few goodies..
