76 highboy powerstroke conversion

Has anyone swapped a 6.0 powerstroke into 70's high boy? Photo's? I'm 3/4 finished my 04 6.0 powerstroke, 5 spd auto and transfer swap into 76 highboy. 79 Dana 60 front axle. Trying to find a rear axle thats 69.5inch's wide wms to wms and 8 x 165.

Well I cant think of hearing of anyone swapping in a 6.0 into a 70`s ford but it sure would be interesting. You should post some pictures of your conversion and information on how you dealt with all the computers and wires. I always thought it would be cool. Did you clearance the firewall? and how did you get the motor mounted in there?

New to this, trying to upload photo's. I used the 04 upper engine mounts and made my own lower mounts. I had a mate bend up some 1/2 inch plate. I haven't clearanced the cab at all yet. The driveline fits like it was meant to be there. I may do some clearancing on the cab around the exhaust if i can't keep the heat out. I did have to trim the back of the grill trim to fit the intercooler.

didnt realize you were down under, very impressive. i put a 10.25 rear in my highboy from a 97 f250. all you have to do is relocate the spring perches and shock mounts

Thanks. It's hard to get good info on different model specs here and even harder to find specific parts. Are you running the 44 in the front still? I've put a 60 in the front and with the srw hubs it's 69.5 inch's wide wms to wms. I want to run the same rims front and back which means trying to find a rear diff thats 69.5 wide. I've heard 88 diesel 250's had a stirling this width but I can't find any or any other diff this width. I'm running a 10.25 out of a 96? f250 just to get it moving but it's 65 inch's wide.

no i went with a 60 up front from a snowfighter. the rear wms to wms will be narrower on almost all of these trucks. if you got one that bolts up on the springs i would use it if not just more the spring perches inward

It's cheaper and easier for me to have the front axle narrowed or widen the rear than find a factory one. I'm looking for some 16.5 or 17 inch rims to clear the front calipers and some 37's then I'll have a look how the different wheel track is. Do you have any photo's of ya crew cab?
