Best paint for frame

I am putting together an 85 F250 that will be sandblasted before I start putting her all back together. I have done a lot of research on what to paint the frame so that it will withstand the most abuse and such but there seems to be a lot of different ideas. I thought i would come to the guys who would probably know the best and ask them what they thought. I looked into por15 but they don't suggest that on a sandblasted frame. Powder coating would be nice but its a little out of the price range. Any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks for the help guys.

I think just por15, then use an enamel black paint over that. por15 by itself is supposed to fade over time, which would look bad.

same here.
i treat the frame with phosphoric acid, then a good 2 coats of rustoleum red oxide primer, then 2 or 3 coats of rustoleum industrial gloss black paint.
paint and primer are cut with acetone and sprayed on.

I painted my 78 F250 frame with Sherwin-Williams Industrial Enamel Gloss Black. Lasted many years in the sun and weather till I tossed it. . .I painted the front end of my 87 F250 when I had the motor out with 2 coats of Rustoleum Industrial Enamel Gloss Black and it is still shiny. Only prep was scrapping a scrub with simple green

A long time ago I painted one of my Jeep frames with POR and it looked great for 2 or 3 weeks, but becaue the frame sat outside on jackstands while I worked on it in the middle of the summer, the gloss black paint turned Grey and chaulky in a short amount of time.

Since you are going to sandblast your frame, that would essentially be starting from new. If that's the case, I would suggest two coats of a good quality 2-part epoxy primer. I personally am using the SPI Home brand. I find it to be of excellent quality at a fair price, with the absolute best customer service. If applied correctly the epoxy primer will last for many years, after all think about how hard the 2-part epoxy glues are. Post some pictures of your work, maybe some before-during-afters. And keep us informed with whatever you do use and how well it holds up. Good luck.

Since I knew my ranger would get covered in mud and pressure washed over and over again, I primed and painted my frame with some hard enamal tractor paint I picked up at Tractor Supply. Been good for the last couple of years and is a pain when I need to grind the ground lugs and keep them clean.
