If it wasn't for information provided by ctubutis, I would never have found a replacement for my air intake duct, or figured out how to hook up my radio, or a dozen other things. Note also that his posts bear the word MODERATOR, meaning he's the overseer of this particular forum. There are innumerable topics here where he has taken the time to scan and post schematics, and direct folks in the right direction to solve their problems.

There are dozens of other guys here who know what they're talking about. Gary Lewis, Grubbworm, Numberdummy, and plenty more have provided invaluable input and answered many, many questions. In short, this is the place to be if you own and love these trucks. I've dabbled in other forums in the past and left them disgusted because of the backbiting, infighting, and general nastiness that was simply a waste of life. Here, it's all about trucks.

The beauty of this forum is that there is a great deal more giving than taking going on here. Someone posts a question, and by and large the members will beat it to death until it's answered, then want to know if it worked. Every one of us learns something from every question posted. Each time I think I have my '81 figured out, I read a post that makes me think I don't have a clue.

If it wasn't for these guys, I'd still be trying to get the door open.

Friend, you've been reprimanded by about 4 other people for saying that, so there is no point for me to repeat what they said, even though I feel the very same way. However, clarity is very important when describing these issues. On this forum, being vague will not work. For example, exclaiming that one's truck won't run and you need help makes me scratch my head at the ambiguity of the request.
Questions I get from that are
1. What does the poster mean by "Not run"?
2. Does "not run" mean it starts and then dies?
3. If so, how long does it take before the truck dies if it does initially start?
4. Does the truck just not start at all?
5. Do accessories work when the key it put to the "ON" position?
6. Is there violent shaking when starting the truck
7. Does the motor even turn over when the key is turned to the "Start" position

Basically, the more information the better. Because a poster gives little information to the gurus, the gurus can only guess solutions back due to a lack of information. If you continue to frequent these forms, you must get used to including A LOT of information. We are still here to help you, if you're willing, but don't assume that because someone is genuinely trying to help you they're "trolling" you.

Back to the nature of the problem. Can you explain to me what a pressure switch is in regards to the brake system? My understanding was it was completely mechanical (besides the switch for the brake lights)
And when you say you kill the engine, do you apply the brakes and the motor noticably bogs down to a lower rpm?
