What all comes when a 92-97 truck is ordered with XLT trim? is it just the map pockets and padded vinyl on the doors? Is AC and power doors part of the option? I have never known what was included. I havent seen enough XL trucks to know what is missing VS an XLT equipped truck.

As far as I know it's power windows, power door locks, speed control, courtesy light group, upgraded cloth seats and carpet, and trim stuff like chrome grill, and different side moldings. And the map pockets you mentioned...

I'm sure I'm missing a lot but this is all I can think of at the moment..

 

The XLT option is basically a nicer seat with lumbar, power locks and windows, cruise control, tilt leather wrapped steering wheel, and the better door panels.

One of the most noticable XLT and Eddie Bauer options was the brushed aluminum tailgate panel.

Some XL trucks did have cruise control.

Some XLT trucks had power mirrors and some didn't.

A handful of XLT and Eddie Bauer trucks got the factory CD player, but it was kinda rare.

XLT trucks almost all if not all had carpet.

Most XL trucks had the vinyl floor which I actually put in my truck to replace the carpet. Its easier to keep clean.

Sliding rear windows were an option, but not an XLT thing.

Thats the most of it, but I'm sure we left something out.

Otherwise, it's all there..

As for my 1992 Custom....

It had a headliner (Woooo, so much of an upgrade....)...

Now, I've added my own options list-

-XLT Bench Seat w/ Lumbar
-XL Vinyl Floormat
-Crank Style Door Windows
-1996 Dome Light (Explorer style) with Individual courtesy lamps
-XLT Underhood light (Mine had a cap over the pigtail from the factory)
-Tilt Steering Wheel (Came from my 1991 Crown Victoria)

Some more options I'm looking into are-

Not bein a dick but the years you mean to say is 92-96 cause 97's are when they switched to the newer model.. But everyone is right, I have a 96' XLT f150 and it's got carpet and cloth seats,power windows,locks,mirrors,and all tha stuff,came with a cassette player,nicer door panels,the map deal and the brush aluminum tailgate panel..

 

Well, just a little info here........ The 97 F-250 and F-350 WERE the same body style ad the 96 models!!!! The only one's that changed for 97 were the F-150 and the F250 light duty!!!

The OP DID NOT specify F-150 only!!!!

I don't know if this was a standard of XLTs, but my XLT came with factory aluminum wheels. Most of the XL 250 and 350s I see have steel wheels and hub caps.

 

Mine has the twistable wheel locks on the front (4x4) and just curious do they all come with the cast iron plate on the back of the cab in between the bed?

 

the custom didn't even have a vinyl floor? it was just the bare metal?
and,you added cranks for the windows? ok now,even a custom must have a way to roll up/down the windows.


well another little thing not specifically stated yet,so what the heck;
the xlt interior trim pieces around the upper door panels and dash received a silver look rather than the black trim.
my old '96 was the XL.it appeared to have two updated options (or special ordered i should say) that was standard with the XLT package;
velour (cloth) seat and A/C.

XLT's received chrome side mirrors,grill,headlight bezels too,if not already stated.

 

My 95 xlt has all the mentioned options BUT the power mirrors. I was robbed....
