I just had the 12b34 recall done on my 6.7 F-550. It was fine for a weekend but after a trip to and from the lake I got the "drive to clean exhaust" message on the screen. It stayed on. It has never done this. I usually just get a quick "cleaning exhaust filter" message which goes away in a few seconds. I kept driving but the message never went away. After about 40 mins of driving the wrench symbol came up on the screen. After a shut down and restart it all went away.
Then today after driving for a while the check engine light lit up. But again after it was shut down and restarted later on it went away.
Anyone else have this issue? Power is fine, it drives great, pulls its loads like normal. Just scared to trust it as I have a camping trip coming up in a few days.
The truck has about 8500 km on it. The reflash and nox sensor as well as its first oil change with Mobil Delvac 1 ESP 5w-40 oil was done at 8000km.
If the "yellow wrench" AND "Check Engine" light came on at any point in time, DTCs will be stored regardless of whether they are still illuminated or not when you bring the truck back to the dealer if you so choose.

After I had the 12B34 done on mine, the regen behavior changed significantly and I too had the "Drive to clean..." message on for a long time once. I have an Edge CTS so I could check the soot behavior. What happened is that after the update, the soot "jumped" up to nearly 4.0 over a value that makes the ECM say "drive to clean...". It too quite some time for the soot to come down but it did and it all cleared out normally. But now, the regens happen much more often (probably twice as many) that before the 12B34 and the soot levels tend to be a bit higher than before.
The wrench symbol comes up when the soot level exceeds 4.5. Given that mine got to nearly 4.0 once - who knows. In any case, even if the wrench symbol goes out, the codes related to the event remain stored and available to the techs when you bring it in.
The issue seems that in your case, it appears unable to get the soot down. You may have a sensor problem that introduces this issue. Critical sensors to determine soot levels are the DPF differential pressure sensor and the EBP sensor (make sure the sensor fitting is tight on the exhaust downpipe). If there is a sensor leak or sensor problem, the soot level will reach astronomical values. I had the leaking problem on mine last year. The soot level went up to 6.0 with the wrench on etc.
Just got the truck back. It had codes P2463 and P2452. They cleared the codes and did a manual regeneration on the truck. We'll see if it lasts. Hope it doesn't leave us stranded the next few days as we are going camping with it. Towing a 29' 5th wheel trailer with a 18.5' boat behind that.
