Wow, nothing is safe anymore, I was thinking about getting some locks for mine, but figured no one would bother for my stock wheels. I feel bad for them, I would be so pissed.
Lock your toys up when not in use. Alarm the house and garage and have dogs, there's no shortage of scumbuckets who will take everything that catches their eye.
Yep...those thugs were over here in Round Rock, Tx not long ago as well. Got my neighbors Chevy Truck and left it the same way.
My F250 has the tail gate lock, wheel locks, jimmer jammer plates, key hole cylinders removed, and all the lock rods are removed from all doors. Also, installed two security cameras that watch my truck in my driveway.
Yes, I am little paranoid, but my GMC 2500HD was broken into twice (likely high school) kids as it always happened in the summer and I probably left it unlocked coming back from the lake or something. Both cases, radio, and IPODs were stolen.
After my neighbors incident with his truck on blocks......I went with the camera security as the sheriff could not do much, just dusted for prints and I filled a report. Its cheaper than the deductible.
Any truck in a driveway could be easily in the same situation. Its not hard and I know much truck rims could easily be stolen and I'd never know when sleeping.
That really sucks. At least they put the vehicle on pavers and not just let it sit on the ground....damaging more stuff.
Now...if I caught someone doing that.....big problems would be for all...
That blows hard.....not much you can do though. At least they didn't drop it on the ground. As far as wheel locks go I will share my boss's pain with missing wheels. He leased his daughter a new Fusion a year or two ago. Of course she insisted on the sporty top trim wheel package. Boss came out to come to work one morning and wheels were gone, car sitting on blocks just like your poor friends truck. Didn't damage the car any. Dirtbags got caught by there next victim red handed. Daughter got her wheels back later that day. Boss of course installed the best wheel locks he could find (Gorillas I belive). Six months later she came out after staying at her friends house and her car was stolen. It was found later that day two blocks away. Dirtbags busted the center console out to shift to neutral, then column to steer, then pushed with another stolen car damaging the both bumpers somehow, pryed the trunklid open to get wheel lock key, set it down on the ground without a care in the world. She was out of a car for almost two months. A planned, organized thief will get his prize. Ain't nothin' we can do about it.......except maybe shoot them...
