Truck Wont Start - Help!
I'm new here!
I left the keys in my truck last night (2000 F250 Diesel) and now it wont start. I tried jumping it with my dads jeep but it still wouldn't start after 15 mins.
At the same time there was a noise coming from inside the truck which seems to be related to the Relay 1. It goes off if I pull that out. Maybe that is totally unrelated though.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas? At first nothing would happen at all when I turned the key. Now the little icon things appear and the message that says "wait to start". Once the wait to start icon goes away I try to start but it doesn't really do anything.
Should I just leave it attached to the other car longer? Should I get a battery pack and leave it attached for hours? Is it something else? There are two batteries so not sure if that is different than jumping a car with one battery?
Any suggestions would be really helpful! Thank you.
First thing to do is get both batteries fully charged. The Jeep will not have enough cranking amps to start your engine. After the batts are charged, the truck will start. The IDM needs to see 10.5 volts while cranking to tell the injectors to fire. With week batteries, you will here some buzzing/clicking under the dash.
Do this and let us know how it goes. We may need to go deeper into this, but I think you will be fine after the batteries are charged.
EDIT. Don't ask me how I know this.
