I'm hooked! Been watching train horn videos on you tube, and I want one. the only problem is I don't know what or where to order it from. Need someone's advice on who has one . Heard one at a car show with a remote control clicker. My ears are still ringing. If anyone has some advice or opinions on the variuos horns to stay away from , I would appreciate it . this is a big investment for a orn and I don't want junk.
I think this topic came up before. I did some research to get an idea of prices after seeing something about that. If only I could remember if I saved those links.

I believe that these might ensure that you get a big ticket and perhaps your truck impounded in some states. To me this ranks right up there with oversized woofers and amps playing headbanger music too loud. I would suggest that those folks are trying to overcompensate for the short comings of their other equipment . . . But then that is just my opinion.
There's a restaurant across the street from where I work, and there's some old retired guys that meet for luch sometimes. One of them honks those da** horns when he comes and goes. He thinks it's funny when everyone jumps, the dogs go nuts and everyone's annoyed. Don't be that guy.
I have no short equipment in my inventory, I have no tickets, and if it's too loud, then you're too old is what I always heard. I'm an old fart, I like it loud and I am proud! A little fun never hurt anyone,a time and place for everything I say. And if the moron in front of me cuts me off he better be ready.
according to what i could find in dmv rules here they are illegal for use on the road in passenger vehicles , hades thase of us with air horns on our commercial vehicles are subject too fines if we use them within city ot town limits here . we are to use our city horn aka normal car horns so to speak . thats not to say you cannot have them just cant use them or .....
Real train horns are illegal. The ones you can buy are not the same as found on an actual train, they are very loud but not the same. If you have one from an actual train then it has been stolen from a train yard. I was told this by a Union Pacific Police officer
not so sloppy joe . know a driver who has been an owner operator for years with an old , but super nice kwhopper that legally bought a set from c&im i believe and runs them on it . they are however so dain big they are mounted in full polished view behind the cab . and man when he toots 'em you know !!! if you aren't expecting it you'll jump straight up a few feet !!!!!!!! the little ones though between the lit up , polished up old semi and the horns just love it ! i geuss it depends on who ya know eh ??
(a) Every motor vehicle when operated upon a highway shall be equipped with a horn in good working order and capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than 200 feet, but no horn or other warning device shall emit an unreasonable loud or harsh sound or a whistle. The driver of a motor vehicle shall when reasonably necessary to insure safe operation give audible warning with his horn but shall not otherwise use such horn when upon a highway.
If you are seriously considering installing one of these obnoxious devices then you might want to do a Google search. Be careful of erroneous opinions on various forums. It could cost you dearly.
