OK, Some of you are going to think this is a dumb question but I have to ask it.
I believe my truck is missing its pcv valve so I need to know exactly where it is located. According to my manual, it should be on the oil filler spout on the drivers side and the hose goes to my air filter, is this correct? If that's the case, then it is missing.
Regardless your manual is wrong or you are interpreting incorrectly. The PCV goes to an engine vacuum port. The fresh air feed runs to the airbox or someplace along the air intake AFTER the MAF sensor, if you have one.
Dang, I guess including my engine might have helped a little. It's got the 460 in it, I checked the hose going from the oil filler hole to the air filter and there is nothing there but hose.
I also managed to stop by NAPA on the way home from town so I could get a look at one and according to their parts book the pcv valve for this engine is threaded. I've never seen one like that before so i'm not sure where to start looking. Anyone out there know it might be?
Yeah, that's it, after looking over the engine a bit closer and knowing what the pcv valve looked like I was able to find it. It has a small vacuum hose going to it that branches off in different directions. Strangest looking pcv valve i've ever seen. Thanks for your help fellas.
