I see one of these on ebay. it seems to have all the needed parts
I just want to know what they go for new before I try to bid on this one.
Also are they worth it when it comes to timing the 7.3 IDI?

Thanks for the advice. You really do have to watch what your doing and know what you are getting in order to make ebay work for you.
I have made 450 transactions on ebay and only been burned once.
Just wondered what the Snap On MT 1480 cost new. It seems headed for $400 on ebay and I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay that much so I stopped bidding.

they're no longer made.been discontinued for many years now.iv got the older mt480 which only does luminosity.if you can get one for 200-300 with at least a 7 day return policy to make sure it all works,it's worth it.otherwise,i wouldn't mess with these older meters.
a ferret timing adapter and a light w/ advance is about the best way to go.all new and replaceable,for about the same $ as an old disconnected meter anyway.

Pay for a shop to do the timing twice and you are money ahead. That assumes they are even timing it correctly!
The Ferret can also be used for different engines by just getting the appropriate size piezo crystal shoe that attaches to the line.
