Mirror Swap

Has anyone put the 09+ mirrors on the 04-08 trucks? I'm thinking about doing the swap. One of mine broke so I figure it would be a nice upgrade. I'm sure I can figure out the wiring if there is any difference. I currently have the heated power adjust mirrors. Some pics would be great if anyone has any.

Yup.all they did was change the nose and bed sides. Cab is the same. Pretty clever. Make people think it's a whole new truck but it's just a really elaborate body kit.

They did change the rear seats for scabs and "changed the steering geometry for better ride and handling" according to the salesman trying to sell me a '11

We have a very large insurance depot in my town. They take all the claims there and let them sit. Not sure how that works... ANYWAYS, they have a '10 raptor that was rolled. I wanted to break in and take the suspension and see if I could get anything to fit on our trucks.

This is not entirely true. The cab is the same from the A pillar to the B pillar on most models. The 09+ SCrew is about 4" longer in the cab, thus the back doors are slightly longer as well. The 09+ Reg and SCab are mostly unchanged from A-B in regards to dimensions.

That steering change is EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering). Your salesman was not entirely wrong, in fact he was mostly "correct". I use that term "correct" loosely. I beleive that the 6.2L powered trucks do not have EPAS.

But as for the mirrors...Yes 09+ mirrors can be bolted to the 04-08 trucks. If you look closely, there was a tow mirror option for the 07-08 F150s from the factory. Those mirrors can be found in a bunch of places online. The very basic manual models are about $250 for the pair, and the full power/heat/etc can get up near $500 in a hearbeat.

I hope that helps.

I have a set of 2010 mirrors on my 08...bad wind storm last sept and hit driver side mirror. So went to the dealer 627 for 1...went to the auto recycler and got on for 225 then found out it was from a 2010 so i had to get the other side changed....plug and play absolutely no problems
