my drivers side up-pipe is leaking and my passenger side looks like it might have just started... i got all the bolts out of the collector but the lower bolt on the passenger side, so how do you guys do it? thinking i might just have to break the manifold to up pipe bolts tomorrow morning. everything was going smooth until that bolt, turbo came right off in no time, and got the other 3 bolts out of there pretty dang easy thanks to all of you guys especially whoever posted about that cut down 15mm wrench with a 1/2" socket welded to it i had to make me one and it worked perfect...
those who have replaced the donut gaskets without removing the transmisison how did you get the collector to line up right allowing the turbo to be mounted. i got the collector back on and went to put the turbo on and there is no way its going to line up with any of the pedistol mounts. any tips would be appreciated trying to start driving the truck agian, to hot here to be driving my car with no a/c.

I know guys have done it with the trans in, but anytime I'm gonna mess with the up pipes, I'll take the time to pull the trans. It's a little more work, but I think it's worth it for the aggravation it saves......for me anyway.LOL!
With everything loose, you should be able to get the parts lined up.
If not, something's not right.
Once things are in place and bolted loosely I'd start by getting the pedestal tight, then the collector, then the up-pipes at the manifolds, then at the collector. Get bolts snug, then do final torque once all pieces are snugged, just in case you have to take back apart.

Yeah man definatly never want to mess with them Agian without the Trans sort of a pain....
Thanks jim. That worked didn't think I was going to be able to snug the bolts up with the turbo in place. Got it all back together with no exhaust leaks so far.
