Hello all, I have had my truck for about two months and I am having a few troubles in particular I cannot get the inner door and window handle off. I need to get it off because my door is not closing properly. I was also wondering if a shop/assembly manuel might be helpful, and if so where can I get one.
As for the inner door handle, there is a trick. I remember reading about it. Maybe I can find that thread for you. The manual would tell you, but I'm not at home to look at it.
Next best reference to shop manual is free! Call Mid Fifty Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Home toll free first thing tomorrow and ask for them to send you a copy of their catalog. It's so much more than just a parts catalog, it is full of accurate drawings, exploded parts assembly diagrams, tables and helpful hints and information both stock and modified. You can download and print their catalog, off their website, but I suggest ordering the printed version to keep close at hand in the shop, you'll refer to it regularly!
Use your smallest allen wrench to hook that little handle clip and you can pull it right out. And don't leave those things lying around, very easy to lose. Believe me. Put all your door handles, trim rings and those clips in a ziploc bag until you are ready to re-assemble.
Can't wait to see the pics, the 54's are by far the best lookin' trucks in the bunch
