P0420 - Running rough
I have a 2006 F150 5.4L with code P0420 and under heavy acceleration (1/2 to full throttle) the truck starts losing power (falling on its face). Please help. have it schedule to do a plug change since it has 97k on it. But do i need to change the cat also? or wait to see what plugs do. Thanks for the help.

Most likely, the DTC is a result of a longer term misfire that has dumped too much fuel into the cat and has fouled it. If you're lucky, the cat might clear and it's efficiency will come back without having to replace it.
Get the plugs changed so that the misfire is fixed, clear the codes, then run it for a while to see what happens.

Power is back
Went to Muffler shop on lunch, the cat was clogged up and needed replaced. They replaced it in less than 30 min. Back on the road with my power back. Still plan to replace the plugs soon. just a couple weeks later since i spent my money on the cat instead of the plugs.
