I know that oil has been designed to last longer however, I personally cannot go more than 3000 miles between oil changes. Again it's just me.

Say you start out with 10W 40W and when you get a sample done it comes back as 5W 30W. Its the breaking down of the molecules of the oil. Our HPOP's are hard on oil.

You bet, that's the way I understand it anyway. Shaeffer's 7000 will not do it as much.
