Starter not engaging-Trans Control Module???
2006 Ford F250 6L Starter not wanting to engage
After cheater start TOW/HAUL light flashing and wont shift right
Recently after a short drive out of town my truck spent the night at a friends went to get it the next day and started wouldnt click nothing.. all the lights light up did its pre start stuff and no starter action. So without thinking i charged the batteries and replaced the starter still nothing! so i went and got a Ford starter relay (located under dash) changed that and still nothing...
so i shorted the starter out with the key in the run position and started it. Ran it home shut it down and it started fine for a couple days now trouble again. Jib started it again but now i have TOW/HAUL flashing doesnt want to shift. Limped it to a mechanic he figures a TCM (transmission control module) and he wouldnt do it fear of wrong part (2000$) Part from Ford. Has anyone ever had an issue with this part every mechanic i talk to hasnt done one,, looking for an answer to this issue!!! also note i have a command start and unhooked it.. not the problem.

The TCM in these dont fail often (In Fact Iv never heard of a TCM going BAD a Few Tranneys but thats It) yours TCM is probably OK If it was me Id Take to FORD before Gambling on a Bad TCM for 2K
There is a Trans Range Sensor that sometimes Fails part of what the Trans Range sensor does is wont let it start unless in Park or Nuetral
With the Tow Haul Light Flashing you might have some Codes but you will need a scanner that will read trans codes so all I know is the AE with the Ford Bundle or the Dealer
when you wiggle the gear selector will it start?????

Even a Bad TFT sensor will Raise Hell
A ScanGaugeII will show Tranney Range Sensor and TFT but it wont pull any DTC from the TCM
