New to the Forums

Hey All!

I'm new to the forums, and seriously looking to buy a f-350. I have been going to a lot of dealers in NY and not getting much Flex on the price.
Looking for a:
F-350 SRW
Diesel
Crew Cab
Long Bed
Lariat
MoonRoof
Full Nav package

I know the sticker is in the $61,000-$65,000 area. Most dealers have be able to offer the sticker price, minus like $4,000 which is/was a rebate for the diesel. Looking at eBay, I see trucks with similar similar specs at $47,000-$55,000 but located in Texas, Kansas and Carolinas.

Is there a reason these areas sell for so much cheaper?

Will these trucks be able to last for years in the winters of New York and Massachusetts with road salt?

I am willing to drive up to 2,000 to pick up my truck if the price is right, does anyone have any information on dealers that carry large inventories so I can shop around?

Thanks for the help.

Richard

You should be able to buy the truck at approximately dealer invoice, minus the factory incentives which are YOURS. Don't let the dealer act like he is doing you a favor by giving you the incentives.

Suggest you go to cars.com and start researching. The site will also show you the dealer invoice, which varies by dealer location. If you shop hard enough, you can find the truck at invoice or even less. You shouldn't have to drive 2,000 miles to get it either.

On the other hand, if you find the truck you love, and you have to pay $1,000 over invoice, minus incentives, to get it, don't beat yourself up over it. Don't let $1,000 keep you from the truck you love. If you pay $60k for a Lariat, you should beat yourself bloody.

Oh, and welcome to FTE.

Your dealers should be able to search for what you want nationwide. If they won't, don't bother givin' 'em your business.

I'd get the VIN's on the trucks and start comparing them by using the link below (take spaces out of the URL, and put the VIN where I indicated below). This will give you the window stickers on 'em.

h t t p : / / services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=PUT VIN HERE

If you can wait, you could order the truck, get exactly what you wanted. Also, if you can't get anyone to budge on pricing, there's always X Plan.
