That's what I used. Holds up nice in this hot Cali sun. (forgot the manufacturer name)
Oversize your holes just a bit to allow for expansion/contraction. If you don't the composite will bow up when it heats up. Hard to tell it's not real wood unless you look at the end cuts.
Good luck. Sweat ride!
Thanks for the info. I'll have to check on the composite decking more seriously.
I can picture the Yosemite Sam Back-Off mud flaps already. Lookin good!
Hmmmm.....didn't think about that..............................sound fun, but don't know that it fits with the Gator Raider theme. Might offend RT or worse, make his hair turn grey................
Painted it with black hammered paint. I'll get outside pic after it's mounted.
Nice choice on decking. Have fun with drilling in the hardware. That was the part I dreaded the most. Well worth it though. Looks nice man.
Thanks! Got it all cut and fitted, but it's too hot now. Will tackle the hardware another day...RT loves all the room but wanted to know where the cheerleaders are
say, whats truck painted with, primer? or that new satin paint?? im bout ready to paint mine, looks fine, thanks, i know this is late, but just seen it,

It's a flat paint. Got it from Kustom Shop in Cali. Easy to spray, very forgiving, and has held up well. They are online and have lots of colors now. My son used some of their metallic flat on his 65, just as easy to use. I think they have a satin clear now also.
A quick update...pulled the 9" apart thinking the limited slip needed rebuilt. Discovered that PO had installed a spool in it....good for racing but not for everyday driving. Waiting for a friend to get back from vacation to see what kind of 9" he has at his house. May just have the spool removed if his is not what I want. Or maybe some of the racers around here would want to buy it?
Finished attaching the decking and the little things in the interior. RT hasn't had a chance to go trolling yet............
I found a 9" the other day but it has 2.75 gears in it. I'm thinking that might be a little much for the truck, anybody ever use 2.75's in their truck? The local swap meet is tomorrow, so I thought I'd check it out and see what I find.
RT finally convinced me to let him use the car to go trolling as the truck is taking a while.....he found a new friend. A petite little thing, but he seems to like her
I've got 2.75s or so in my 9in. Granted its behind a 302/C4 combo. It's great for highway driving but sucks on bottom end. When I get the money I wanna swap in 3.50s and an AOD
