2000 Excursion will not crank or turn over, help!!!!
First time user.
I am currently out of the country and my wife just told me that the Excursion does nothing when she turns the key. the panel lights come on as well as the running board lights and dome light, but nothing.
I looked up some possibilities such as the PATS, the starter relay and the ECM but not sure where to start.
Can anyone give me some ideas and possibly some pis that I could have my wife able to understand and trouble shoot? I don't want the vehicle to sit for another 7 months without starting.
Thanks All!

From there with you mentioning all the lights working I would tap on the starter and then go back and try the key again. If I have help I will tap on the starter while someone holds the key to start. If that works the starter solenoid is sticking. Sometimes the starter is just dead and even hitting it wouldn't make it work again. The last thing I would check is the starter 12v+ signal from the key to starter relay at the starter and make sure its seeing 12v when the key is turned to start. From there I would check the big wire (wire from batteries to starter) connection at the starter/solenoid for 12v. The solenoid on the starter has three poles. Two for the bigger battery wire and starter wire and the other small pole for the start signal wire from the key. With the key off the one big pole should have power from the batteries. With the key turned to start all three poles should show 12v+. If all 3 show power the starter is dead.
-Turn the key to the first position.
-Put the truck in reverse and roll it back a foot or two.
-Put the truck in either park or neutral and see if it starts.
