This is my 460 big block. I think this is the crank case ventilation its on the left side valve cover, it was like that when i purchaced the motor. Is it supposed to be like that?
This is the thermostat housing. I took the old one off and replaced it with this one. The old one had something that looked like a vacuum switch or something. There wasnt anything hooked up to it so i plugged it off. Is that good or do i need to get what was on the old one. If so where do the lines go?
The PCV valve needs a hose to go to a large vacuum port underneath the carb, the fitting on the thermostat housing was from emissions controls that were probably long ago thrown away, no need to do anything.

Is it on the front left side of the carb.? I was told i have a 650 dominator, I know its a holley 4 barrel.
My PVC attaches to the air cleaner and has a little filter inside the air cleaner housing. Are you running the stock filter assembly or do you have an after market?
The item in the old thermostat housing was a ported vacuum switch (PVS) which would have controlled the EGR system which you DO need unless you do heavy re-turning to compensate for its absence.

Uhh, no.
PCV valve attaches to the carb base or manifold via a tube. The valve controls the flow, sucking fumes out of the motor.
The little filter in the aircleaner housing is for the air supply to go into the motor, usually at the oil fill cap. You can eliminate that with a filtered breather cap. Several options exist for that.

I bought one before but ended up taking it back cause there was a gap on either side.
Do they make them to fit with this opening? This is where the oil cap goes.
