da1981 f250 starter problems. -annoying- ..

OKAY! I've got an '81 f250 351m-400 4speed 4x4.. and It has a new starter and here for the past couple of days when I go out and try to start the truck to move it the start just turns. Nothing engages except the starter. You can hear the loud whining sound. And I don't understand why this is happening. SOMEONE HELP! LOL

Unfortunately, not all new parts are good parts. And from your description it sounds like your starter drive isn't engaging. You need to pull it and bench test it.
