If your trailer will haul it Mike, haul it. I haul that forklift often that distance, it weighs 22k plus the trailer. If you're worried about the trailer, maybe you can rent a bigger trailer cheaper somewhere and still haul it yourself?
Take your time and take off easy, or that trans may need to be replaced before you get that 30 miles..
Please post pic! I now need a 20,000 goose neck so I can rent our backhoe out! Didn't think our trucks could handle that much. Backhoe is 16,000lbs! Pic please if it happens!
truck trailer and hay is 30,900 pounds I tow that 2 times a year from Delta Colorado to Chino Valley AZ. if you have ever driven in Arizona, Utah or Colorado you know it is all mountains. the last grade I pull is from Cameron AZ. to Flagstaff AZ. I top out at 25 mph. the semi's can't pass me on this grade. (3 lanes wide)
I guess this is the section where we air our dirty laundry... i used my Dad's bobcat and his 14 foot dump trailer to scrape a lot and haul the weeds and stuff to the dump. It is a bumper pull rated for 14K, I was pulling it with my 98 Cummins since I didn't have my F450 at the time. I loaded up the trailer till the tires just started to squat... like we always did back in the day.
It pulled great, but didn't stop so great. The surge brakes just didn't work right.
I weighed in at the dump and the Lady said, um this can't be right. Just give me 100 bucks and go dump it. I was 100 pounds shy of 30K.
I had to dump water on the battery terminals to keep them from smoking off. Glad Dad went for the double ram on the dump trailer.
