I have located some parts for my 69 f350. I have located 2 doors and a hood. The guy has a 240 6cyl out of a 1972 f150 with starter, new exhaust, carb and alt. It was a daily driver and the clutch only has 20K miles on it. He pulled it and put a 360 in his truck. Anyway, he wants me to make him an offer. How much is it worth?
I bought a perfectly good one by mistake for $75. Couldn't even find someone to take it for free. Finally sold a few parts off it and scrapped the rest. Nice head, but worthless if no one wants it. Too heavy to ship.
If you have to put a price on it, then haul and store it until someone comes along wanting a 240 (unlikely) it should be free. It's worth about $125 a ton here.
It is truly a shame that the 240/300-6 isn't widely used in Jeeps or older FJ-series Landcruisers. When I HAD my FJ, I always dreamed of grafting the 300-6 out of my F250 into it to make it truly road-worthy AND a rock-crawler at the same time. What a great engine for idling around at crawling speed with tons of smooth torque available at an idle.
