Front Vent / rear AC question

So the week before the 4th of July the family headed to the U.P. to visit the parents and we ran into some difficulties with the AC.

First the rear ac would fluctuate somewhat significantly in temperature and seemed to follow this pattern for the most part. At stop or slower speeds it was usually cool or cold but at 70 or 75 mph seemed to more often than not blow warm or even hot air. the outside temp was into the high 90's or low 100's and there was a lot of stuff in back but not blocking the rear side where the ac stuff is. the front was always as least cool if not cold but had a mind of its own as to which vent it wanted to blow out of.

I did change over to manual hubs but have the vac lines caped so where should i start looking as i am assuming i have some form of vacuum issue? Is it more likely to be a vac line that has a crack or the actual vac pump? how do i determine which?

As far as the back goes I have no clue as for the most part it seems to be blowing cold air now but 95% of the time i don't get over 50 mph unless I am going someplace for work and with a 1 year old that has issues with heat I really don't want to do another trip where he gets warmer than he likes to be.

Open to suggestions.

Thanks
