Ken (woodnthings) mounted his coolant temp sender in the coolant bypass filter housing. He said the temp readings are still pretty accurate there. I have mounted mine there also, but haven't finished the wiring up yet. I will get that done this weekend.
I'm using the Carquest housing, so I only have two ports.
I've added a stand alone coolant temp gauge. My readings vary quite a bit from the OBD based Aeroforce numbers. Sometimes I see a 20* difference, other times, it's within 2 or so degrees.
Most of the time I'm seeing around 170* with ambient temps under 35*. When loaded up a little it'll rise - but not much. I've only seen the needle tickle the 190 mark once.
