Now that just ain't right. There should be absolutely no performance change when the engine goes into regen; the only way I could ever tell is if I cought the 10-second message on the display screen.
Something is wrong here. You should take it to your dealer to see what they can figure out.
Maybe it's the spotted-*** ape that's making it stumble!
That dash message is three seconds.
Now on the CTS it's 10 minutes!
But I agree, there shouldn't be a performance drop but the engine tone does change.
Sometimes it will even sound like a 6.0L accelerating from a stop sign or something.
I goof around (WOT) sometimes during AR's and while I don't know if that's good for things, it's just as fun.
I tend to wait close to the end; I pretend it's helping blow the ash out of the filter.

That's a logical determinatiion. I'm going to try that too . I read that early on, too much fuel injected during the regen was causing flames out the exhaust. Now what's wrong with that?
Street Rodders used to put metal things in the exhaust tip that would glow red when hot. Very cool looking at night. I remember seeing glowing red bowties in exhaust pipes, could make a metal scorpion out of tungsten or something that would glow red in the exhaust tip. That would be cool.

I don't think DEF is flammable. But, I have been wrong before.
