possible vibration from trans.
Heres the problem.
At 40mph while braking I have a mean vibration that seems to be in the rear. I have changed all 4 rotors and pads. Runout was done on all rotors and hubs and everything is within spec. New shocks, New tires(balance twice), and the front-end was alligned. Yesterday we replaced the seals and bearings in the rear axle. I have disconected the ABS from under the hood and the sensor on the rear, thinking maybe the ABS modulation was bad. And low and behold the problem still exists.
Is there a possibility that durring braking at 40mph, The truck is in the middle of a downshift, and maybe the trans is causing the vibration?
The truck rides very smooth durring excelleration at all speeds. Its only under braking, so I have pretty much ruled out an unbalanced driveline and u-joints. But anything is possible.
Im extreamly frustrated and Ford will tear up my bank account if I have to leave this in there hands.
Thanks in advance for any info.

I would take it off and take it to a driveshaft shop to have it balanced then get some "teflon" grease (ford) and add it to the splines and seal.
The driveshaft is easy to remove and install.....just remove the 4 bolts at the rear flange and pull it out of the rear transfercase......add a pan up under for drips.
Reinstall at 80 ft lbs.
