U bolts for C Codes

I am going to pick up some C codes off of a salvage lot tomorrow and i'd like to know what U bolts I need for the back. Do I just order stock ones for a 350 dually or is there more involved? Thanks.

No one knows what U bolts to use? Is someone out there pissed off enough that this has been gone over 40 million times that feels like sending me a link to it and calling me an idiot?

I did a quick check and there are a few threads with members putting in the C-code springs in there X rather than the B-codes. None of the ones I read talked about needing to use a different sized u-bolt.

I did run across one thread that said you need to use the C-codes off a DRW and not a SRW which I am not sure why.

So that being said I believe if you are going to use the C-code the needed u-bolt will be determined by other factors like
1. are you going to mod the C-codes like the B-code mod?
2. which block are you going to use with it?

Perhaps you can send a PM to the user in this thread to find out what specific u-bolt he used.

I have C codes ready to put on and they are the about the same thickness as the stock X pack, so I ordered ones from Ford that fit the stock X. Jeepij8 has already done the X/C swap like I am doing, he bought stock X U-bolts as well. Did not have a problem. He used the stock X block as well with the X codes and it sits level. These are the C codes without the overloads that I am talking about! The ones from a 2003 DRW F350.

Tim,

I dont know if there is a real value to modding the C's? I would think they'll take as much weight as a modded B, and I didnt really need much more. Not looking to lift the truck, just wanting it to be able to take the added weight of a 34 ft TT.

Yes that may be true. You should see if you can get someone to give you the after height measurement of C-code install.

One of the reasons to modify the B-codes is for the added height - the C-codes may not need this as you mentioned.

The moded b-codes is a good match for putting in the V-codes springs in the front.

What springs do you have in the front?

I bought X/C's. I am planning on putting a little nicer front bumper on and a reunel rear bumper and hitch. Trying to figure out a way to take a little weight off the truck otherwise to balance out the new weight, but im thinking its going to be fruitless

I noticed in another thread that you picked up a pair of X/C code springs.

I just read this from Jeeplj8 thread....

results are very good. The truck sits level with front x code, rear c code. maybe a little rear high, looks very stock. I did not use any of the ex springs packs.

So you may be right on track with your sweet deal on the spring purchase.

Im hoping so. Definitely going to take before/afters to let everyone see the difference. Hooked up with a local truck shop that does big lifts and such. They have u-bolts and said we'd size them up when I get the truck in.

Hey medik, where did you get your u-bolts? Contacted the stealership and they wanted $40 per ubolt for the backs. Sounds ridiculous to me.

My dealer gives me cost plus 10 so I got lucky. However there are lots of suspension shops our there that have ' rolled ' threads on there u bolts. A drive line shop near me had them cheaper than OEM but it was too late when I found them. Also check eatonspring.com they have them very reasonably priced.
