Well I look at it this way: the 6.0 is one of the last diesel engines that sound like a diesel should sound. Without the urea and all the smog constraints the new engines have to deal with.
You can always change the way that these things sound. I didn't like the way that my 5.4 sounded when I first got it. Sounds a whole lot better now.
As to emotions equipment, lot of people advocate illegal measures for dealing with those things. I don't think Urea and our DPF is going to slow them down doing the same thing.

Naaah The new diesel engines sound like a gas engine anymore, there is no longer the classic diesel clatter.
Myself I like the sound of a tractor as well as the powerstroke. Now it is a plus in drive thru you dont have to shut off engine to place a order with the new diesel engines. lol
