The last oil change was done at ford and is not due for 2000 miles.
The valve cover harness was replaced my ford not long ago.
When the ses light comes there are no codes that autozone can pull.
It does seem like the problem is associated with a bumps in the road.
From the sounds of the fuel tank filler hose and other things, I wouldn't trust your records from the dealer service dept, sounds like some sloppy work was done. I would lean toward fuel tank screens being plugged or something floating around in the tank and stopping up the pickup now and then. HTH's Lee
It was one of the things some guys used to do to get back at someone, put a piece of clear plastic or a condom in a fuel tank. Vehicle would stop and they would take it to a shop and it would run fine, later it would stop again and same thing over and over again. We found one at a service station that I worked at for a time.
Thanks sorry for the late response. I found that picture earlier today using google. I disconnected the ICP and the service engine soon light came instantly. I drove the Van for about 10 miles and I did not have any issues. I will drive it all day tomorrow and see if any of the previous symptoms come back. If it drives fine tomorrow does that mine the ICP is bad?
If it in fact continues to run normally, then it is most likely your ICP sensor that you unplugged. With it unplugged it is not advised to do any serious towing. I did the same thing and made a round robin trip from Chattanooga, TN to Houston, TX to Dallas, TX and back to Chattanooga with it unplugged and had absolutely no issues.
Replace it and clear your codes - it is not that expensive.
the truck was running good with the ICP unplugged for 150 miles and then it started to stumble again. It has stumbled 3 times in the last 10 miles. I still have a half tank of fuel in the tanks. Does that rule out the ICP now.
It was hard to diagnose. It probably took over 6 months if you read the thread. Ford could not diagnose it either. My truck would lose power for no reason almost like someone turn off the engine while it was driving. The previous owner spent a few thousand at Ford trying to find the problem. (Injector harnesses, fuel pump, icp, on and on)
I bought the IPR on ebay it was a factory motorcraft part.
Find the longest deep well socket available. I order a 1/2 drive impact socket from advanced auto parts. Find someone with great flexibility and small hands. It took about five hours on the Van. I would pay a shop if it was under $400.00 labor. I had help from a great forum member.
After the ipr was installed I could tell that the problem was instantly gone.
Prior to that the van got so bad that it could barely go 20 mph

Thanks
Did you notice an increase in MPG? Did it make your turbo louder/could you hear it more? (just wondering how similar my van's issues are)
Mahalo!
