460 build up

im building a new engine for a 93 crewcab 4x4. it got a 460 fi. i would like to put a better cam in it but ive heard about the computers will only accept a stock cam. im pulling a 21 foot boat(daycruser) and the stock cam seemed a little gutless.without the boat on i like the way it runs and im not a fan of rv cams(had on in my 351w van and it was guttless).pluss i would like to go with a supper chip.any sugestions are needed . thanx

They will fix you up. You can run a bigger cam then stock, just not too much bigger. The chip may allow you to run a bigger one, I couldn't tell you.

Have fun

What gear ratio are you running? Sometimes going to a lower gear can make a big difference with towing power.

A cam change would require a custom programmed chip. If you didn't have one with the 351w that may be why it was gutless!
