Sound like you need to bleed the brakes. Given the age of your truck, I'd suggest you flush the system (including the ABS pump) as part of the brake bleeding. Is this something that has gotten worse recently, or has been a concern for as long as you've owned the truck? Have you inspected the brake hoses to make sure they are all still in good shape as well?
