Roughly 2 months ago, I was leaving a service call in a real ghetto area and saw something furry in the middle of the street. I thought it was roadkill. Got closer and saw it moving.
It was a kitten.
Pulled over and got it off the road into the cooler I used for my lunch.
Was going to drop it off at a shelter and be done with it.
That didn't happen.
Here's Peanut when I brought her home (approx 3 weeks old at the time):
Roughly a month later:
I like dog's more than cat's, but, she is my baby (even if she is a little she demon).
We have a 2yr old Golden Retriever named Lana. She is the best dog IMO.. Really light colored, and small for a golden.
The Christmas shortly after we got her
Walking around on my stomach
Her now
We found out this winter that she really likes heat.. This is about 9pm after the living room where the wood stove is reaches about 82 degrees, and she will sleep right in front of the stove with it running, and the flue temperature at 800 degrees (sometimes more). Look at her proximity to the stove...
Got a Black Mouth Cur Pup named Brusier (For the reason that any, and every time he runs into you he leaves a massive bruise) A heap of Muscle just looking for somethin to do... Great hunting dog, even better guard dog...If he'd just leave the Rabbit alone now he'd be a near perfect dog... well that, and quit destroying well everything we use to tie him out...
Got a 50% BorderCollie 25% Australian Shepard 25% Great Pyrenese (spelling?) Named Halfa... Dumbest Animal I've ever seen...(and Border Collies are normally really smart) But a great Pet...
Then theres my Cat... Garfield... Who tries to talk (and sometimes when your really tired kinda does) Eats more than any Cat ever should be able too...The dang thing eats more than I do for cryin out loud...Then He Sleeps everychance he gets, and Torments Bruiser...
Here are my little ones... Two Staffies. Dori is the blue one.
Brick is the white one.
Brick is my son's buddy and has been since he was born.
Here's Brick doing what he loves most...
The companionship is one of the best parts of having a pet. I like Prancer because he is little and will walk right up you and lay on your chest or his favorite thing is at night he will wait till you are still and walk up you sit on you shoulder the hook his nub under your collarbone and flop backwards on the pillow with you and go to sleep. It is so cool, till he starts snoring. Lol. I have rescued 4 dogs and all of then have passed from old age, But I dont even want to think about a day where that little furball isn't here. Besides when he got me I was a used, broken-in model. (pre-trained).Now days I give him a treat when I get home from work just for being there. This is one I had to hit the share button of facebook for.
