engine miss
I have a 302 engine that misses. The engine starts and idles just fine, but when I start to accelerate it misses and have lack of power. Once I get up to crusing speed I can't tell if I have a miss until I step on the throdle. I have changed gas, just put in new plugs, distributor cap and rotor. That didn't seem to help. I did notice that the tack needle seemed to jump back and forth a few hundred rpm. Don't know if I have a short n tack wire.

What did the plugs look like? Plugs can tell us a lot about the inside of the engine. We just need to know how to read them.
Take a compression check both wet and dry. This should tell you if ya may have like a burnt or sticky valve. And much more.
