If there was an infinite gear transmission, what RPM would be best for a 89 460 to tow 15K.

From different manuals, it seems as if max torque is either 2000 or 2200. Therefore I'm guessing if I towed at about 300 about torque, that would be a good rpm.

Good engine rpm should not be dependent on road speed, just the gearing to let me run that speed.

How much above max torque is the optimum RPM for a 89 460 w/EFI? I hope this makes my quest a little more clear. Thanks
