i've been contemplating a 460 stroker myself. there are two cranks i have found, a 513 and a 533. naturally you can guess what i am "planning" on. i say "" because i'm broke and those cranks don't fall out of the sky. i went to my favorite store, ebay, and found a couple interesting things. a 533 stroker crank was "buy it now" for 319 bucks if memory serves me. there were also complete kits for either 513 or 533 engines for a mere 1500 squares. i mentioned the idea to a friend of mine and he said bb ch**y pistons would fit, but a different friend wondered about rods and pins (if they'd fit). so, that is what i have to offer. if you find anything else i'd be quite interested in it. i looked at fancy heads but couldn't find much except aluminum stuff costing a min. of 1700.oo or so.
good luck! i sure hope someone else has something to say i don't feel like i helped much
I'm using a Scat 4.5" stroker crank for mine, it ain't cheap, but it's nice. My D0VE headed engine loved the big intake & 2 750 Holleys, now that I have the BT heads, it's a single 4. If you need any info feel free to e-mail me
The stroker kit I bought for my 501 was 1450 delivered to my door. The kit had an eagle 4.14 stroke crank, eagle 6.800" ESP H beam rods, SRP forged 4.39" flat top pistons, JE file-fit moly rings, JE pins and locks, Clevite77 rod, main and cam bearings.
I went with a .030" oversize piston incase I wanted to go larger next time. That way, I won't need a new block unless this ones gets a window in it...
The smae kits are available for the Ford style rod or even with dished pistons for the same price. I ordered mine from Phil at http://www.raceparts2000.com
