I was putting my chip back I'm tonight after not having it installed for a year or so. I didn't bother to look at the install instructions prior and in a moment of sheer brilliance I pulled the chip out while the ignition was on. Now the truck will only turn over but won't start. I have checked the fuses and they are all good. I have also swapped relays around but no joy. Am I really as screwed as I think and need a new PCM or is there something else I can try? If so where can I get one without going to the dealer? Thanks in advance for any help.
Also I have tried to plus in a bulldog programmer to pull the codes but it can't connect and I do not hear the fuel pump kicking on when I turn the key.

Give Jody a call and he will tell you what you need to do. He can reflash the PCM if you didn't burn it up, which I think you did.
I agree, call Jody he will be your best source of knowledge on the PCM. I think Autozone can actually get PCMs but I wouldn't make a move yet until you talk to Jody about it it will have a better idea of what happens when you remove the chip with the power applied and he might have a good source for the PCM.
Like all have said You have fried your PCM. The most important step in removing the PCM whether installing a chip or not is to make sure than your keys are not in the ignition.
When the keys are in the ignition, they "wake up" the PCM this wake up allows voltage to go into the PCM , Removing it while voltage is present is usually catastrophic for the PCM.
I got 2 PCMs by going through car-parts.com.
After choosing year and model click on Engine Computer.
They are listed by part number and not PCM type.
You can find part number info at this LINK.
