i got a 97 f-250 psd and it quits running and i just replaced the camshaft position sensor and it ran fine for a day and today it just cranks over but won't start. just wondering if it could be a bad sensor or something else.
You need 5 things to run this engine: 1) air; 2) compression; 3) high pressure oil; 4) fuel; 5) proper signal from the computers to run the injectors.
Unless you've got the tools and expertise to do the diagnostics, you may be well off to take it to Ford or a Power Stroke tech. There is a schrader valve on the fuel filter header that you can access to read fuel pressure and if you've got a DVOM and an ICP break-out you can read H/P oil rail pressure. If not just unplug the ICP and try to start it. If it starts, your ICP is no good. If it doesn't, find a mechanic with Power Stroke experience.
